Helping the planet out

As part of the food industry, it’s our responsibility to embrace sustainable practices and join in the fight against climate change. By adapting how we run our business, we can help protect the planet for future generations of diners.

Taking big steps towards a smaller carbon footprint.

Saying no to plastic straws and stirrers, and yes to compostable napkins. 50% plant-based menus and locally sourced produce. These small changes have a huge impact on the environment, while also allowing us to support Shropshire farmers with fresh, quality produce.

We’re a certified member of Carbon Free Dining. This means that whenever you dine with us, you have the opportunity to plant a fruit tree in the developing world. Together, we can offset our carbon footprint and help make the world a greener place, all while providing food to those who need it the most.

Thanks to the generosity of our guests we have planted so many fruit trees that we have an entire forest named after us! Below is the tree counter of all trees planted by our customers to date…

Reducing waste.

We love food and do whatever we can to stop it from going to waste. Serving up healthy portions and lighter options, while keeping a close eye on our stock to avoid waste. We’re also looking to work alongside local food redistribution charities, so even if we do end up with too much, we still make sure everything gets eaten.

Breaking down stigmas and building support networks.

8 in 10 chefs will struggle with mental health at some point in their career. With the help of our head chef, we want to change that.

Working together with several organisations, we have put together a welfare programme to make sure our kitchen team get all the support they need. By creating a nurturing and supportive environment, our family can keep developing their skills and serving the great food we’re known for.
